How Not to Chaperon a Lady

His childhood nemesis…is the woman he can’t resist!

Chaperoning Charity Brookes while she’s on a singing tour should be easy for Griffith Philpot—he’s spent his whole life sparring with her over her flighty ways! But as he discovers that she’s much more than the impetuous girl he thought he knew, a passion ignites between them… Sharing a steamy kiss leaves him torn – he’s supposed to be responsible for guarding her virtue!

Review

Fabulous! As soon as I read the first pages of the first book in this series, I knew I would look forward to meeting all three Brookes sisters, and I was absolutely right. And I mean, of COURSE each of the heroes we meet are lovely, and dashing, but what I love most about this series is the fact that each woman has a moment in the spotlight for having a wonderful, creative skill. We have met artist Faith, writer Hope, and now singer Charity gets her chance to shine. Or at least, she would, if childhood ‘friend’ and now terrible dullard Griffith didn’t keep trying to stop her fun.

The chemistry between these two was positively dazzling, with each torn as to what the potential feelings they have had for each other since childhood might mean as adults. After all, she broke his kite, and he is now stopping her having fun.

Their turning point, when it comes, was unexpected, but a wonderful way to throw more complexities at this duo, and I loved the way they actually worked through their issues. Griffith is hiding a lot under his mature (ok, boring) exterior, as well as carrying the odd weight of being seen as a brother to somebody who definitely doesn’t fit the notion of sister to him.

I would definitely recommend this, as well as the previous books in the series – you won’t be able to resist!

About Virginia

When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down. Twenty books and two Romantic Novel of the Year Award nominations later, and it still takes her forever to fall asleep.
