Keeping My Soul…

One of the things I love most about my writing life is hanging out with other writerly types; that’s one of the reasons the North Tyneside Writers’ Circle came about in January 2017, when Elaine Cusack and I were chatting to Clare from North Tyneside Libraries during an event. Since then, the group has gone from strength to strength, with a steady number of writers turning up each month, great work being produced in the sessions, and some really inspiring guest-speakers who have given their time to come along and talk to us about their writing journeys.

We thought then, that it was time we shared all this talent!

One week today, on Thursday 21st June, at 1830 in North Shields Library, writers from NTWC will be performing pieces they’ve written in connection with the Circle (Facebook event here, for more information). We’ll have poetry and prose, light and shade, a real mix of genres and styles, but one thing they’ll all have in common? Great local talent, showing off what they can do.

Tickets to the event are free, but must be booked in advance, so please call up North Shields Library on (0191) 643 5270 to book your place now. You do not want to miss out on this.

And if you’re a writer yourself, keen to take part in future Circles? Our next session is this coming Saturday, 16th June, where we’ll be focusing on performance skills ahead of the reading next week, but as always, there’s plenty of writing gossip and chat to be had too!

Hope to see you there!
